Customer Reviews

They worked (2010-05-31)
Without going into explicit detail, I will say they worked for the issue that I needed them for.

excellent product (2010-04-29)
The Medela Hydrogels are the best that I have tried. I had very sore nipples when I was nursing my daughter. I tried every product and my lactation consultant recommended this product. It is the best and helped me the most. I tried every over the counter product and this is the only one that helped. They are more expensive but totally worth it when you are in pain. Best to keep them in the fridge so they are nice and cool when you put them on.

Good Pad - 4.5 stars (2009-10-12)
Nice and large so they stay in place. They do a good job. They don't shrink after multiple uses. I definitely prefer to use pads over lanolin.

As a comparison, the hospital gave me a pack of Ameda Comfortgel Breast Pads. The Ameda were okay, but they are smaller (i.e. harder to keep in place) and don't last long if you wash/rinse them in water (i.e. you really have to try to keep them clean b/c you can't rinse them). They also seem to shrink as they get a few days old (maybe they start to dry out, don't know).

Bottom line, if price were the same b/t the two products, I would go with the Medela.

They work pretty well, but there are better ones out there (2009-07-03)
These gel pads work pretty well. My nipples were really raw and sore and these really helped with the pain when I nursed my baby. But you can only wear each pair for 24 hours. So the package only lasts you two days. Soothies, on the other hand, are reusable for up to 3 weeks and are comparable in cost. I'd recommend those instead.

Sweet Relief! (2009-05-30)
When I first started nursing in the hospital my nipples got torn up. A few days after we got home from the hospital I started searching for something to give my painful/sore nipples some relief. These pads are AMAZING! Not only did they provide me with much needed relief, but I truely believe they helped my nipples heal faster. They are a bit pricey but I cut mine in half & they lasted even longer! I will be sure to buy these as a shower gift from now on (as long as she plans on BF)!
